What real dads, and their partners, say about Father's Ed
Father's Ed: The online parenting class built for new and expecting dads
There’s no shortage of parenting advice when you’re expecting a baby. Father’s Ed cuts through the noise with practical skills and real-world checklists, so you stop feeling overwhelmed and start feeling ready.
- BUILT BY DADS, FOR DADS
Father’s Ed was created by fathers of four — for fathers of zero. No lectures, no fluff. Just honest, practical guidance from guys who wished this had existed when they started.
- THE HOW, NOT JUST THE WHAT
Most parenting content tells you what to expect. Father’s Ed teaches you how to handle it — the delivery room, the first diaper change, the 2am cry you can’t figure out. Skills you’ll actually use, not just facts you’ll forget.
- SHORT ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY FINISH
32 videos, most under 10 minutes. Watch during lunch, before bed, or while she’s taking a nap. You don’t need a free weekend — you need 9 minutes a day.
- A 93-PAGE WORKBOOK. SHIPPED TO YOUR DOOR.
Every enrollment comes with a physical workbook — spiral-bound and shipped to you. Checklists for pre-birth prep, the hospital, home safety, and essential gear. The kind of thing you’ll reference long after baby arrives.
- SOMETHING YOU'LL BOTH WANT TO WATCH
Father’s Ed covers how to actually show up for your partner through pregnancy, labor, and the first weeks home. Fair warning: she’ll probably roll her eyes at the first dad joke. By the third video, she’ll be watching with you.
- RESEARCHED. THEN MADE ACTUALLY WATCHABLE.
Hundreds of hours of research, expert interviews, and parenting books, distilled into 32 short videos. One reviewer called the dad jokes “terribly awesome.” We’ll take it.
Your lifetime access includes:
- Consistently updated information
- Concrete tools & resources
- Checklists for pre-birth and the hospital
- Useful gear guides
- Home safety guide
- Certificate of completion
- Closed captions available
Why take Father's Ed?
Hospital classes are worth taking — they’re useful for getting familiar with your delivery location and meeting other expecting parents. But a 2-hour Saturday session can’t cover what happens after you leave. Father’s Ed is the comprehensive foundation that hospital programs simply don’t have time to provide.
FATHER'S ED (ONLINE)
Covers the full picture — from pre-birth prep and hospital day through the first weeks home. 32 videos on baby skills, sleep, safety, essential gear, and how to actually support your partner. Learn at your own pace, on any device, whenever you have 10 minutes.
Pros
- Covers far more than a single-session class
- Built specifically for dads
- Watch anytime, anywhere, at your own pace
HOSPITAL & IN-PERSON COURSES
Great for getting familiar with your delivery location, understanding hospital policies, and hands-on practice in a group setting. Often free or low-cost through your hospital or local programs.
Pros
- Tour the actual delivery location
- Hands-on environment
- Meet other expecting parents

Hi, we're John and Paul, creators of this course
We’re dads to four kids and co-founders of Fathercraft, where we make online parenting classes, do baby gear reviews, and build stuff for new fathers.
We created Father’s Ed, our new dad course, for our former selves. We wanted to be involved dads, but we didn’t know where to start. Paul had never held a newborn. What do you do when they cry? What paperwork needs to be done before the baby comes?
We built this course to help new fathers prepare, so they can relax and enjoy the journey.
There’s no shortage of parenting advice when you’re expecting a baby. Father’s Ed cuts through the noise with practical skills and real-world checklists, so you stop feeling overwhelmed and start feeling ready.

The FAQs of Life
We’re actually not going to answer this one. Our customer Steven C. is: “In comparison to the prenatal class at the hospital, we found that the material is not as similar as we thought. The hospital provided a scientific perspective of pregnancy and what women should expect during the course of their pregnancy and the birthing process. They also gave a tour of the hospital and discussed hospital protocol and policy. One of the most helpful things they taught was infant CPR … We’ve found that the Fathers Ed course has covered everything in between.”
Absolutely. Gifting Father’s Ed is a great way to tell your husband/boyfriend/son-in-law to get his shit together before the baby comes (but in a nice way). Just sign up as yourself, email us (support@fathercraft.com) and we’ll transfer the membership to him. We’re even working on a line of e-cards that show you care about him, and that you’ll be anxiously awaiting his confirmation he’s completed the course.
If you need any help with gifting, hit the chat button in the bottom-right or email us at support@fathercraft.com
Father’s Ed is a self-paced, on-demand video course.
You’ll have lifetime access but, the real clock on you is your baby’s due date. You can still get value from the course after your baby is born, but we strongly recommend you complete it ahead of time—firstly, there’s key info about the pre-birth time and the actual birth, secondly, you aren’t going to have a whole lot of free time afterward.
Father’s Ed is built on a foundation of rock-solid research from trusted sources, organized so it’s logical and useful to new parents. Then we added unbridled enthusiasm. Tips, tools, ideas from experts, what has and what hasn’t worked for us as parents to 4 kids. There’s lots of good, free, parenting info on the internet. There’s also a lot of crap and misinformation. With Father’s Ed, we’ve curated the best from experts, added our own first-hand knowledge, and organized it to be fun and helpful to watch. Don’t take our word for it though, check out customer reviews of Father’s Ed.

Our scriptwriter actually wrote a bunch of corporate training videos that went viral, so you’re in good hands.
Plus, videos are broken up into short, digestible chunks—the longest one is about 15 minutes. So, they’re easy to fit into your schedule. And, since you can watch from your computer, tablet, or phone, Father’s Ed is easy to take on the go.
Here’s Father’s Ed student Steven C:
“My wife didn’t think she was going to get into it with me, but it turns out she is hooked. John is very entertaining too.”
We wrote Father’s Ed with dads-to-be in mind, and John and I are obviously dads ourselves (though our scriptwriter is a woman).
It’s your call. One idea: buy it for your partner, watch some together, see what happens.
Much of the course will be helpful and relevant if your baby is 1-3 months old, but not all of it. Seeing as you’ve already aced the birth and delivery module, maybe skip that one.
If you’re unhappy for any reason, just let us know and we’ll refund your money — no questions asked, anytime up until 60 days after your baby is born. Plus, you keep the workbook either way. Reach us at support@fathercraft.com.
We do indeed! Our course software tracks your progress as you work your way through the video course. Watch all the videos, mark them as “complete” in the platform as you do, and send us an email — support@fathercraft.com.com — we’ll deliver your certificate of completion.
We’re here for you. support@fathercraft.com. We can’t answer medical questions, but your pediatrician can, and part of the course is designed to help you find a great one.
We offer all major forms of credit card, and you can also pay by PayPal.
Great! We’ll get you digital course access within about 5 minutes. We can’t offer free shipping of the companion guide outside the U.S., but we’ve made shipping as inexpensive as possible.
It’s also worth noting that when it comes to logistics—insurance, paperwork, etc., and the gear we discuss in the course, we are U.S.-centric, so not all of it will apply. (Though our favorite car seat is Italian and our favorite all-around stroller is British.)
But, at least in our opinion, most of the parenting principles are universal.
And, new dads around the world seem to agree! We’ve had customers in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, England, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
Umm it’s beyond compare. Just kidding, there are other solid parenting classes for dads online. We’re biased obviously, but in Father’s Ed we focused on a few things: 1) being comprehensive. A lot of what we’ve found out there is focused, but not comprehensive. 2) being well-researched. We put hundreds of hours of research into Father’s Ed using ironclad sources, so you know the info is rock-solid. 3) being fun. If you aren’t having fun while learning, you’re not going to learn as much (or worse you’ll quit). We guarantee Father’s Ed will entertain you, or your money back.
Plus, while we take our material seriously, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. And we have better t-shirts. Put that all together, we think it’s the best of parenting classes for dads out there. And again, let us prove it to you—try Father’s Ed. If you don’t like it or don’t feel it was worth it within 60 days of your baby being born, we’ll give you your money back. It’s that simple.
Every Father’s Ed enrollment includes a 93-page workbook — printed and shipped to your door, free with your order. It follows along with the videos module by module, with checklists for pre-birth prep, the hospital bag, home safety, and essential gear. There’s also a downloadable PDF version so you can pull it up on your phone. A lot of our dads tell us the workbook is their favorite part of the course.
We do. Shoot us an email for more information. support@fathercraft.com.
Just send us an email! We respond to all emails within 24 hours, but usually we’re even faster than that.
Father’s Ed is a great course that is made very accessible while remaining extremely informative! At times there is some more explicit language used, and often I felt like the courses were a little stiff, as he was clearly reading a prepared script.
Still, paired with the partner workbook, it is a great guide for all new dads.
Fathercraft is a must for new Dads, and it’s also a great refresher for second kids if it’s been a while since the infant stage. Watching helped me feel so much more prepared and block out the noise from all the unhelpful information the internet and ads try to tell you. The Dad jokes are awesome and keeps the course fun. Highly recommend, you’ll feel so much more confident!!
I’ve gone through 7 of the 9 modules and it’s been fantastic! Great information to go along with the many books I’ve been reading! Thank you to the team at Fathercraft for this great, informative, and funny (if you like dad jokes) program!
Not only does the course deliver valuable educational materials for preparing and caring for a baby, but it also provides an opportunity to take action for your baby, yourself, and your family. My wife was growing a baby and I was caring for her and working on the house, but I needed something more to help with feeling like I was taking tangible steps to prepare for this big step. I turned to Fathercraft and I am so glad I did. My baby and wife have benefited from the information I’ve gotten through the course and I would recommend it to expecting fathers and potentially as a gift for a close friend if they are looking for something like this.
I feel much more prepared after completing this course. The information is presented in an easy to understand and entertaining way. The checklists are very helpful too!
My husband and I are having a baby boy at the end of March and he found Fathercraft a few months ago. We’ve been watching the Father’s Ed episodes over the last few weeks and they are really good! He has great informations and knows how to keep his audience engaged and laughing. His included workbook is actually something my husband reads through while watching! And from a mother to be’s perspective, I truly appreciate some of the advice he gives. We’re really happy we came across this!
Such a good resource! The 2 creators of this program clearly are loving and amazing dads who want to share their knowledge with other dads. I would strongly recommend this course! The layout of the course is well thought out, full of good information and delivered in a straight forward way!
Very comprehensive, very comprehensive and thats both a plus and a minor minus. Lots of insight, knowledge and learning, but can be overwhelming at times with all the details and conent. The trick is to take in what works for you and ignore what doesnt. Good to compare with other models, like the French approach which is more relaxed and overall laid back. But overall, a great resource to used as a foundation and work with other material around it.
